Plum Dumplings

So tonight was the first time I’ve ever made this, but I think it turned out pretty okay. So here’s what I did!


  • 5 small plums pitted and sprinkled with a little sugar for good measure
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp butter for frying
  • About 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Few grinds of vanilla or splash of vanilla extract



Pit your plums, add sugar if desired. Combine dough ingredients and let rest for one hour. Add extra flour and roll dough out fairly flat and wrap dough around each plum. Boil plum dumplings for at least 10 minutes. Fry in 1 tbsp butter, then pour over cream, sugar, and vanilla. Done!
