Lover’s Meatloaf

This recipe was inspired by a Jamie Oliver recipe where he made a snake meatloaf surrounded by yorkshire pudding. Yorkshire pudding is a super British recipe that is basically their version of dinner rolls. What’s great about this recipe is that you can make the meatloaf into ANY shape you want: a snake, heart, ring, cross, butterfly, christmas tree, literally anything. And if your scuplture skills suck, WHATEVER. It’ll be gone before you can blink anyway!

  • 500 grams minced meat (a pound)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs (100 grams)
  • ¼ ketchup (40 grams)
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worchestire sauce (sp?)
  • 1 onion (100 grams)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the yorkshire pudding:

  • ¾ cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • Pinch of salt

Whisk yorkshire pudding ingredients together then set aside. Combine all meatloaf ingredients with your hands and shape desired figure in a greased roasting pan. Bake at 400F/200C for about twenty minutes, then pull out roasting pan and pour in the yorkshire pudding batter. Bake it until the lake of pudding is golden. Enjoy!

Tip: To create a complete meal, serve with gravy and steamed veggies.
